Verónica Fernandez de Castro

Verónica Fernandez de Castro is a program officer for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. In this role, she works in the foundation’s priority place of Mexico to support thriving children, working families and equitable communities. Based in Mexico City, she provides leadership and strategy implementation for the program in Mexico and in the foundation’s geographical focus areas, the Chiapas Highlands and the Yucatan Peninsula. She leads grantmaking activities, identifies and nurtures opportunities for affecting positive systemic change and executes programming efforts that are aligned with the organization’s direction. Before joining the foundation in 2011, Verónica was a project coordinator for the Center of Indigenous Rights in Chiapas, where she designed and managed community projects, conceptualized funding strategies and created educational materials and curricula to support the center’s mission.
