Robert Bosch Stiftung Gmbh Joins the Global Alliance

The Global Alliance for the Future of Food is pleased to welcome Robert Bosch Stiftung to its strategic alliance of philanthropic foundations working together to transform global food systems towards greater sustainability, security, and equity for all.

Robert Bosch Stiftung’s work in the field of climate change is “guided by the vision of a regenerative world, in which life and livelihoods are sustained by a just transition of land use – in keeping with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.” Aligned with the GA’s vision for a future of food that is renewable, resilient, equitable, diverse, healthy, inclusive, and interconnected, Robert Bosch Stiftung joining the network of philanthropies will further bolster shared objectives to transform food systems and transition into a more equitable and sustainable future.

Robert Bosch Stiftung advocates a just transition and a fundamental paradigm shift in land used based on holistic solutions that achieve climate goals, safeguard biodiversity, reduce inequality, and strengthen resilience by focusing on regenerative practices in agriculture and forestry. As the world looks ahead to COP26 in November, the collaboration will further strengthen the GA’s collective work on the climate-food nexus and systems approach to connecting the dots on linked issues – from inequality to migration to health and wellbeing. The foundation’s strategic focus, coupled with its work promoting sustainable policies and frameworks, aligns significantly with the GA’s 7 bold Calls to Action too.

Commenting on the news of membership, Ottilie Bälz, Senior Vice President Global Issues, Robert Bosch Stiftung, said:Food system transformation is key to implementing the right to food, overcome hunger, malnutrition and poverty, and address the biodiversity and climate crises. We are looking forward to learning from other members of the Global Alliance who have longstanding and rich experience in the area and to potentially engage in and develop joint initiatives.”

Ruth Richardson, Executive Director, Global Alliance for the Future of Food, said: “We are pleased to welcome Robert Bosch Stiftung to the Global Alliance. Through their membership, collaboration, and collective action, we can have greater impact by leveraging resources, knowledge, expertise, and influence to transform global food systems.”
