Making an economic case for the true costs and benefits of various food and agriculture systems is essential for forging a pathway towards a sustainable future of food. As a cornerstone of our work on externalities, the Global Alliance for the Future of Food is a key supporter of TEEBAgriFood, a project housed at the United Nations Environmental Programme and led by The Economics of the Ecosystems and Biodiversity Office. TEEBAgriFood allows us to see the full suite of food production, distribution and consumption impacts across various system types and scales when environmental, health, social and cultural cost and benefits are calculated.
