Financial Flows

Global Alliance members have identified the need to gain a better understanding of the broader funding and investment ecosystem as a critical strategy for food system transformation. This includes inquiry into areas such as the proactive employment of integrated capital, the inclusion of other types of capital such as traditional knowledge, community capital, and natural resources, and strategies to use financial capital in new ways.

Specific to our members, we are also exploring opportunities to “learn, link, analyze, and adjust” philanthropic financial flows – including grants and impact investing – between members, recognizing that until foundations activate all of their capital for equitable and renewable food systems, our efforts will be partial and critical opportunities in food systems funding and investment will be missed.
